So the holidays are officially OVER at Disneyland and California Adventure

What's next now that the holidays are over at DIsneyland and Disney California Adventure

Hey Disney Fan!

1. You can finally stop eating holiday treats (just kidding, we never stop)

2. The parks are now in that glorious "refurb season" where half the rides peace out for some much-needed TLC

THE GREAT REFURB-POCALYPSE OF EARLY 2026

A.K.A. Why You Should Plan Your Trip Carefully.

Listen, I know it's painful, but necessary. Here's what's currently getting pampered:

Disneyland Park:
Rise of the Resistance (Jan 20 - TBD) - Yes, that's right. The ride that's been breaking down since 2020 is FINALLY getting its first scheduled refurb.

Haunted Mansion (Jan 12-22) - Saying goodbye to that holiday overlay and going back to classic spooky. We love both versions, but traditional Mansion just hits different.

It's a Small World (Jan 26 - TBD) - Holiday overlay removal time! That song is about to be EXTRA stuck in your head when it reopens.

Mark Twain Riverboat & Sailing Ship Columbia - Taking a little maintenance cruise Fantasmic! - Dark for a bit
Pixie Hollow - Even the fairies need a break

Disney California Adventure:
Incredicoaster (Jan 5 - Feb 6) - This one's gonna HURT. No upside-down action for a whole month.

Pour one out for all the thrill seekers.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind (Jan 5-22) - Back already on the 23rd though!

Grizzly River Run - Getting some spa treatment
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail - Because even playgrounds need love

The Silver Lining: Fewer crowds + shorter lines on everything else = WIN. Plus, you know these rides will come back running smoother than butter.

LUNAR NEW YEAR IS COMING IN HOT (Jan 17 - Feb 16)

Year of the Horse:

Year of the Horse, baby! And Mickey and Minnie are serving LOOKS with brand new Korean-inspired outfits that are honestly adorable. DCA is about to be decked out with:

Six (count 'em, SIX) food marketplaces serving up Asian-inspired goodies Mulan's Lunar New Year Procession with Mushu leading the charge "Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration" water show
Live musical performances daily

Pro tip: Get the Sip and Savor Pass if you're planning to eat your way through the festival. Trust me on this.

70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION CONTINUES

Because Seven Decades of Magic Deserves More Than Just a One-Night Party

The party that started in May 2025 is STILL going strong through August 2026. "World of Color Happiness!" is still lighting up the night at DCA, and all that gorgeous 70th anniversary decor is sticking around. Plus, there's tons of limited-time merch (more on that below!).

FOOD ALERT: What's Fresh to Devour
