After weeks behind refurbishment curtains, Pirates of the Caribbean reopened on June 26, and it came back with a genuinely new trick rather than just a fresh coat of paint. That is the headline of the week, but it is far from the only good news. Anytime park hopping continues to prove itself as one of the best quality-of-life changes the resort has made in years, the Magic Key renewal dining card remains very much worth claiming, and the 70th Celebration keeps the resort feeling festive as it heads toward its August finish line. This is shaping up to be a wonderfully uncomplicated stretch of summer — here is everything worth knowing before your next visit.

⚔️ PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN IS BACK — AND IT BROUGHT SOMETHING NEW

We are leading with this one for good reason: Pirates of the Caribbean reopened June 26 after its refurbishment, and Walt Disney Imagineering used the downtime to add a genuinely new effect rather than simply restoring the classic. In the treasure grotto scene, a pirate figure now transforms from full flesh-and-blood form to skeleton and back again, blending projection-mapping with mechanical animation in a way the attraction has never done before. It is a rare thing for a 59-year-old classic to debut a brand-new beat, and this one is worth experiencing in person. If you have not ridden it since the closure, move it back to the top of your list.

Park Hopping Anytime — Settled into the Routine

Three weeks into the anytime park hopping rule, it has fully shifted from “new policy” to just how a day at Disneyland works now. Guests with Park Hopper tickets or Magic Keys can move between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure at any time of day, subject to capacity and reservations. It remains the single biggest operational shift at the resort this year, and it is well worth building your daily plans around.

🏞️ DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE — QUIET SUMMER RHYTHM

With the Food & Wine Festival closed out since late April, DCA has settled into a steadier summer pace: regular dining, seasonal menu items, and 70th Celebration touches filling the space festival marketplaces used to occupy. No new festival has been announced to take its place this week, so do not expect marketplace-style food kiosks for the time being. With hopping unlocked all day, DCA continues to work beautifully as a flexible second stop rather than a destination you have to commit to from rope drop.

🗝️ MAGIC KEY — RENEWAL DINING CARD & SUMMER SAVINGS

Renewal Dining Card — Still Active Through May 2027

The Magic Key renewal dining card remains active for on-time renewals made through May 26, 2027. Renew your pass and receive a complimentary Disney Dining Card based on tier: Inspire Key $100, Believe Key $75, Explore Key $50, Imagine Key $25. The card arrives by email within 72 hours of renewal and works at participating resort dining locations — remembering, as always, that it is not valid at Downtown Disney District restaurants. Standard Magic Key perks, including dining and merchandise discounts and PhotoPass benefits on eligible tiers, remain in place alongside it.

Summer Hotel Discount — Booking Window Open

Disneyland Resort is offering up to 25% off select stays of four nights or more at Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, plus up to 15% off at Pixar Place Hotel, through September 7, 2026. If a summer stay is anywhere on your radar, this is a smart window to book before peak-summer rates and availability tighten further.

🏰 DOWNTOWN DISNEY — DINING, SHOPPING & STEADY SUMMER ENERGY

Downtown Disney remains the resort's easiest no-ticket option for a meal or a shopping detour. The lineup stays steady: World of Disney, The D-Lander Shop, Beignets Expressed, Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, Salt & Straw, Parkside Market, Disney Storyland Boutique, and Nectar Life. With park hopping now built into the daily flow, the District pairs naturally with a quick break between parks rather than a separate outing of its own.

🏨 RESORT HOTELS — SUMMER OFFER STILL THE HEADLINE

The resort's summer room discount remains the hotel story to watch this week (see Magic Key section above for full details). On the dining side, Goofy's Kitchen, Storytellers Cafe, GCH Craftsman Bar, Sketch Pad Café, and Small Bytes continue to anchor the on-property food scene, with no new hotel-only merchandise launch standing out enough to bump the room offer as this week's lead hotel story.

🛍️ MERCHANDISE — 70TH CELEBRATION & SUMMER STOCK

No single new drop is dominating shelves this week — the merchandise story right now is really the 70th Celebration and summer resort stock continuing their steady run. Expect anniversary apparel and collectibles to keep anchoring displays resort-wide as the celebration heads toward its August 9 finale.
