🚨 Park Hopping Just Changed at Disneyland
Plus ride updates, new food finds & Downtown Disney construction news.
Hello, Disney fans!

Disney California Adventure Park
Downtown Disney District
🎊🚀 BIG NEWS: Park Hopping Rules Are Changing
Freedom to Hop All Day
Rumor confirmed — Disneyland is moving away from the long-standing 11:00 AM park hopping rule. That means:
Guests with Park Hopper tickets and Magic Key passes will be allowed to switch between parks anytime after entering the first park (rather than waiting until 11 AM).
You’ll still need a valid Park Hopper ticket or pass and park reservations for the first park of the day.
The exact date for this change hasn’t been published yet, but it’s expected later this year.
Why this matters:
This gives guests more flexibility — especially on light-crowd mornings or when rope drop plans change suddenly. If your party wants to hit headliners in one park early and then swing over to food or shows in the other without waiting around, this change will make that much easier.
🎢 RIDE & ENTERTAINMENT UPDATES
🔧 Space Mountain Short Refurbishment
As of February 23rd, the legendary Space Mountain attraction went into a brief refurbishment.
It’s scheduled to reopen on February 27th, so expect downtime this weekend only.
Quick tip: If you’re planning a Disneyland Park visit this weekend, rope drop helps you catch indoor rides like Haunted Mansion or Pirates before midday crowds hit.
🧡 Monsters, Inc. Extended Stay
Originally set to close this year, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will now stay open through 2027thanks to updated construction timelines for major expansions like Avatar and Coco lands.
This is great for families who hoped to ride it again — especially during upcoming seasonal events.
🍴 FOOD & SNACK SPOTLIGHT
Seasonal & New Items Worth Trying
🥨 Downtown Disney Favorites
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes (Pop-Up) — iconic milkshakes (think crazy toppings and rich flavors) are temporarily appearing in Downtown Disney starting March 2nd for a short run before they pop up elsewhere. You’ll find classic burgers, loaded fries, and signature CrazyShake flights with fun toppings like cotton candy and cookies.
🍔 Disneyland Snack Watch
Menus continue to flex week-to-week as festival flavors fade and spring tests begin. Look for seasonal churros with new dips, updated cold beverages, and changing seasonal bites at quick service spots.
Tip: If a snack looks appealing on the app, mobile ordering while lines are low (before lunch or mid-afternoon) saves wait time and sometimes money.
🛍 MERCH & COLLECTIBLES — WHAT’S NEW
🎁 Recent Drops & Hot Sellers
Limited edition pins tied to park hopping updates and Magic Key changes.
Nostalgia merch celebrating long-running attractions and anniversaries — patches, tees, and collectible items have been trending.
Festival merch from Lunar New Year continues to dip in stock weekly.
Price pointers:
Pins: ~$17 – $24
T-shirts: ~$34 – $44
Limited collector items: ~$60+
🏗 DOWNTOWN DISNEY — CONSTRUCTION WATCH
🍰 Porto’s Bakery Progress
Work continues on Porto’s Bakery & Cafe near the former La Brea/Earl of Sandwich space — walls and demo signs are visible from the Esplanade. People have spotted:
Demolition of old ticket booths to make way for the new location
Construction walls that are shifting walkways
Concept art and menu images sometimes showcased on scrims 🎨
This location is expected to be one of the first sit-down Porto’s locations at Disneyland Resort, complete with expanded seating and unique offerings.
👀 WHAT THIS MEANS FOR PARK GOERS
Increased Flexibility
The park-hopping change means you won’t be stuck waiting on time windows — you can pivot your day to chase lower wait times or food reservations more easily.
Walkways near construction can feel tighter, especially moving between parks and the District at peak times.
Ride Access
Temporary closures like Space Mountain show up without much advanced notice, so keeping an eye on the app is key.
📣 RECOMMENDED STRATEGY THIS WEEK
Morning
Head early to beat crowds on indoor rides or seasonal snacks
Mobile order breakfast snacks before parks fill
Midday
Use app notifications to hop between parks once the official timing news drops
Grab drinks and light bites while lines are long
Evening
Window-shop Downtown Disney or catch late-night food demos and merch drops
