🎉 THE BIG PICTURE THIS WEEK

This is the kind of week that makes being a Disneyland fan feel genuinely spectacular. Pride Nite opens tonight after months of anticipation. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind — closed since late February — finally reopens Thursday. Disney has already started dropping Halloween 2026 food details and the menu is extraordinary. Soarin' Over California is in its final two weeks before transitioning to Soarin' Across America. And Oogie Boogie Bash ticket sales are live for the general public on Thursday as well. There is a lot happening and every single item on this week's list is worth your full attention. Let's get into it.

🌈 PRIDE NITE IS TONIGHT — JUNE 16 — AND IT'S GOING TO BE MAGICAL

The moment is finally here. Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite opens tonight, June 16, with the second night following on Thursday, June 18. For its fourth year running, Disneyland Park transforms after dark into one of the most joyful, colorful, and genuinely moving celebrations on the entire resort calendar. If you have tickets — tonight is your night. If you don't — here is exactly what is happening inside.

The Entertainment — A Night Built to Inspire

The evening kicks off with the Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite Fireworks — WELCOME spectacular, a custom-designed fireworks show inspired by Walt Disney's original park dedication: "To all who come to this happy place, welcome." It is a genuinely moving way to open the evening and sets the tone for everything that follows. Rainbow projections bathe Sleeping Beauty Castle and the lands of Disneyland in color all night long, while DJ stations throughout the park spin Pride-affirming music from opening to closing. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and friends dressed in special Pride-themed attire lead a character cavalcade down the full Main Street U.S.A. parade route accompanied by dancers — one of the most crowd-pleasing moments of the entire night. Line dancing in Frontierland, special character appearances spread throughout multiple lands, and immersive themed photo opportunities round out an entertainment lineup that is inclusive, celebratory, and completely unlike any regular park evening.

The Food — Event-Exclusive and Worth Every Bite

Pride Nite's food lineup is exclusively available on the two event nights and includes some genuinely creative additions for 2026. The standout new item is the Enchanted Sunset Beverage with a Disneyland 70th Celebration D Glow Cube — a luminous, color-shifting drink served at Plaza Inn, Galactic Grill, Stage Door Cafe, Red Rose Taverne, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, and Harbour Galley. The glowing cube is a 70th Celebration collectible and it makes for an absolutely stunning photo. Dulce de Leche Funnel Cake Fries at Stage Door Cafe and Hungry Bear are a sweet, indulgent new addition that feels perfectly festive. And returning fan favorites include the gluten-friendly chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with non-dairy ice cream and the pulled mushroom and jackfruit loaded fries with beer-battered fries, chili lime aioli, coleslaw, and pickled jalapenos. A Santa Maria-style tri-tip sandwich at Hungry Bear rounds out the savory options beautifully.

The Merchandise — Event-Exclusive, Available Tonight Only

The 2026 Pride Nite exclusive collection — a new-design hoodie, tumbler, and collectible trading pin — plus a brand-new Pride Nite popcorn bucket are available only on the two event nights. No online sale. No in-park availability after June 18. Arrive during the 6 PM mix-in window and head to merchandise locations immediately for the best selection. These items sell through quickly every year and the popcorn bucket in particular is expected to move fast.

The Details

Tickets are $169 per person, the park mix-in begins at 6 PM, and the official party runs 9 PM to 1 AM. Unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads are included with your event wristband — scan the QR code into the Disneyland app and all your photos are available for 45 days at no additional charge. Both nights feature identical entertainment and experiences, so either date works. If tickets are still available for June 18, check Disneyland.com now — availability is very limited at this point.

😂 INSIDE OUT EMOTIONAL WHIRLWIND REOPENS THIS THURSDAY — JUNE 18!

After nearly four months of unexpected closure — Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind at Pixar Pier is officially returning this Thursday, June 18. The ride closed in late February with no announcement or explanation, and has been one of the most asked-about closures at Disney California Adventure all spring. We do not yet know what work was done during the extended downtime, but the timing of its return on the same day as Pride Nite Night 2 and Oogie Boogie Bash general ticket sales makes June 18 one of the most eventful single days at the resort all summer.

If Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind has been on your bucket list for your summer DCA visit, Thursday is the day to make it happen. The spinning, emotion-fueled dark ride through Riley's memory world is one of the most visually inventive and genuinely fun additions to Pixar Pier in recent years, and its return is very welcome news for both families and Pixar fans of every age.

🎃 HALLOWEEN 2026 FOOD IS ALREADY HERE AND WE ARE NOT READY

It is the middle of June. Summer has barely begun. And Disneyland just dropped a first look at the 2026 Halloween Time food menu — and it is so good that we simply cannot wait until August to tell you about it. Consider this your early warning system so you can start planning your fall visit with maximum snack strategy.

The New Items That Have Us Already Planning Our Halloween Trip

The Caramel Apple Cheesecake at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is the showstopper of the early reveal: caramel cheesecake with caramelized apple filling, finished with a caramel drip, orange and white chocolate mousse, chocolate flakes, and a chocolate bat on top. It sounds like a dessert that was designed to make you completely forget summer ever existed. The Haunted Heatwave Pizza at Alien Pizza Planet — spiced blush sauce with mozzarella and pepper jack, Italian sausage, classic and crispy cupped pepperoni, smoked bratwurst, sliced red Fresno chiles, basil, and hot honey drizzle — sounds like the most ambitious theme park pizza in recent memory. And the Oogie Boogie Lemonade at Smokejumpers Grill — green apple Minute Maid lemonade with cherry-flavored popping spheres and raspberry sauce — is the kind of refreshing seasonal drink that sells out by noon on every Bash night.

New Halloween Looks for Mickey, Minnie, and the Gang

Disney also revealed that Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals will debut brand-new Halloween-themed outfits in Town Square this season, featuring a harlequin motif and swirling confection designs. New additions to the Main Street Pumpkin Festival also include depictions of Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon woven into the seasonal décor — a delightfully unexpected Star Wars-meets-Halloween detail that feels very 2026. More food and entertainment details will be released in the coming weeks as HalloweenTime draws closer.

✈️ SOARIN' OVER CALIFORNIA — ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT!

Here is a bittersweet reminder that needs to be front and center this week: Soarin' Over California closes permanently on June 30, transitioning to the new Soarin' Across America on July 2. After a beloved limited-time return celebrating DCA's 25th anniversary — running since early 2026 — the California version of the attraction is heading into the Disney vault for the foreseeable future. The orange groves, the Golden Gate, the coastline, the beloved scent effects — all of it disappears on June 30.

If you have been meaning to ride Soarin' Over California one more time and have not yet gotten around to it — this is your absolute last window. Two weeks. That is it. After June 30, Soarin' Across America takes over with a new coast-to-coast American journey. Which will certainly be wonderful. But it is not going to smell like orange groves. Ride the California version while you still can.

🎢 ATTRACTIONS — CLOSURES, CALENDAR UPDATES & PLANNING INTEL

Current Closure Snapshot — Updated This Week

Here is the complete and updated refurbishment picture heading into this week:

·       Pirates of the Caribbean — Still closed since May 4, no specific return date announced but anticipated soon

·       Silly Symphony Swings (DCA) — Closed since April 27, no return date announced

·       King Arthur Carrousel — Closed June 6, no return date announced

·       Frontierland Shootin' Exposition — Closed June 6, no return date announced

·       Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind — REOPENS THURSDAY JUNE 18! 😂

Everything else — Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Galaxy's Edge, Buzz Lightyear, Radiator Springs Racers, Incredicoaster, Toy Story Midway Mania, Grizzly River Run, Jungle Cruise, the Monorail, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, and the Millennium Falcon — is open and running. The parks are in great summer shape overall.

Chiller at Paradise Gardens — Closes July 26

A small but notable closure to flag: the Chiller outdoor vending cart near Silly Symphony Swings at Paradise Gardens Park closes July 26 with no reopening date announced. The cart serves frozen slushies and seasonal snacks. Disney confirmed the closure is directly related to construction activity at the adjacent Coco ride site — a sign that the new attraction's footprint is actively expanding. Progress on Coco is real, it is visible, and it is making us very excited for what's coming.

Disneyland License Plates — A Fun Update!

Here is a completely unique piece of Disneyland news: the California Disneyland specialty license plate program has hit a significant milestone in pre-orders! The plates feature iconic Disneyland imagery and proceeds benefit Disneyland-related charitable initiatives. The program requires 7,500 pre-orders to go into production, and the interest list has been building steadily. If you are a California driver and a Disney fan, this is worth checking out at the California State Treasurer's Office website.

🎃 OOGIE BOOGIE BASH TICKETS — GENERAL PUBLIC SALE OPENS THURSDAY JUNE 18

The moment the broader Disney fan community has been waiting for arrives this Thursday: Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 general public ticket sales open June 18 at 9 AM Pacific, with the virtual waiting room opening at 8:45 AM. With 33 nights on the calendar running August 18 through October 31 — this is the biggest Bash in the event's history — but popular dates will still move quickly. October 31 falls on a Saturday this year, making it the only weekend Bash night, and it will sell out fast. Early August dates are historically the least crowded and offer the best overall experience.

Magic Key holders: your pre-sale window opened June 16 for Inspire Key holders and June 17 for all other tiers. If you have not yet purchased, check availability now before general public sales consume remaining inventory on Thursday.

🗝️ MAGIC KEY — DINING CARD REMINDER & SUMMER SAVINGS

Renewal Dining Card — Still Active

The Magic Key renewal dining card remains active through May 26, 2027. Renew your pass during that window and receive a complimentary Disney Dining Card: Inspire Key $100, Believe Key $75, Explore Key $50, Imagine Key $25. The card is emailed within 72 hours and works like a Disney gift card at participating resort food and beverage locations — but is not valid at Downtown Disney District restaurants. For families renewing multiple passes, each renewal generates its own card.

Summer Hotel Discount — Book Before August 25

Magic Key holders can save up to 20% on select Sunday through Thursday hotel stays from May 22 through September 7, 2026. General guests save up to 25% on premium rooms at the Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, and Villas, and up to 15% at Pixar Place Hotel. The Magic Key booking window closes August 25. If a summer on-site stay is anywhere in your plans, this week is a great time to lock it in.

🏰 DOWNTOWN DISNEY — SUMMER ENERGY & TRANSFORMATION IN PROGRESS

Downtown Disney is buzzing with summer energy right now and the Monorail connection makes it more convenient than ever as a pre or post-park destination. Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio is the perfect warm-weather dinner. Salt & Straw's seasonal menu continues to bring creative flavors worth a dedicated visit. And World of Disney is fully stocked with summer resort merchandise, 70th Celebration Finale Collection items, and the latest Toy Story 5 offerings.

A reminder that Jamba closes permanently on July 5, being replaced by Bopo Go! boba and bubble tea cafe. If a Jamba smoothie is a nostalgic part of your Downtown Disney experience, you have about three weeks to get your last one. Earl of Sandwich's permanent two-story flagship is still building toward its opening alongside Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby — the Downtown Disney dining landscape is about to look very different in the best possible way.

🛍️ MERCHANDISE — PRIDE NITE DROPS, 70TH FINALE & SOARIN' FAREWELL

Pride Nite 2026 Exclusive Collection — Tonight and June 18 Only

The Pride Nite 2026 exclusive hoodie, tumbler, trading pin, and popcorn bucket are available only at tonight's event and on June 18. No online sale, no in-park availability after June 18. Arrive early during the 6 PM mix-in and head to merchandise first.

70th Anniversary Finale Collection — Final Weeks

The Disneyland 70th Anniversary Finale Collection — Swarovski crystal ear headbands, Spirit Jersey, deep purple apparel — is available now at Elias & Co., World of Disney, and select resort shops while supplies last. The celebration ends August 9. These items will not be restocked once they sell through. The crystal ears in particular are moving steadily.

Soarin' Over California Commemorative Merchandise — Act Now

With Soarin' Over California closing June 30, commemorative merchandise celebrating the attraction's limited return is available now at select resort shops. If a Soarin' keepsake is on your list, shop this week or next — after June 30 these items will be gone. The Magic Key exclusive Soarin' Over California poster was available for pickup through April 17, but standard commemorative merchandise remains in shops now.
