🎉 THE BIG PICTURE THIS WEEK
This is the calm before what is shaping up to be one of the most festive and freedom-filled weeks Disneyland has offered all year. Park hopping gets completely transformed in literally days. Magic Key holders just woke up to one of the best renewal perks the program has ever offered. Pride Nite — one of the most joyful and beloved events on the entire resort calendar — is nine days away. The Throwback Dance Party takes its final bow this weekend. And summer is no longer approaching. It is here, it is warm, and Disneyland is absolutely glowing. Let's get into every detail.
🎉 COUNTDOWN: PARK HOPPING ANYTIME BEGINS THIS MONDAY — JUNE 9!
We have been talking about this one for weeks and the day has finally almost arrived. This Monday, June 9, the 11 AM park hopping restriction that has been in place since Disneyland's pandemic-era reopening in 2021 is officially gone. After five years, Park Hopper ticket holders and Magic Key passholders will finally be able to move freely between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure at any time of day — from the moment the parks open.
This Week — Still the Old Rule Through June 8
To be perfectly clear for anyone heading to the parks between now and Sunday June 8: the 11 AM rule is still fully in effect. You must wait until 11 AM to cross the Esplanade. Do not show up at 9 AM expecting to hop — the Cast Members will politely redirect you until the clock hits 11. Sunday June 8 is the last day the old rule applies. Monday June 9 everything changes.
What Changes on June 9 — The Full Picture
Here is exactly what you can expect starting Monday:
· Move between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure at any time of day, starting from park opening — no 11 AM waiting period
· You still need to make a park reservation and choose a starting park when booking — that requirement remains in place
· You no longer need to physically tap into your designated first park before hopping — meaning a guest with a DCA reservation could theoretically enter Disneyland first, subject to availability
· Park hopping is still subject to capacity — if a park hits maximum occupancy, incoming hoppers may experience a brief hold
· Pro tip: if you enter a park and then hop within about 20 to 30 minutes, you may briefly be stopped at the second turnstile while Cast Members verify your ticket. It resolves quickly but plan for that possibility
The strategic possibilities this opens up for savvy park-goers are genuinely exciting. Want to catch Radiator Springs Racers at DCA rope drop and then be at Disneyland for the Matterhorn by 9:30 AM? June 9 is your day. Want to do breakfast on Main Street and be in Avengers Campus before 10 AM? Go for it. This is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade for every Park Hopper guest, and it arrives just as summer hits its stride.
🗝️ MAGIC KEY BOMBSHELL — RENEW YOUR PASS AND GET UP TO $100 IN FREE DINING
Magic Key holders, this one is for you and it is genuinely excellent news. As of May 27, Disneyland has added a brand-new incentive for pass renewals — and it is one of the most practical and valuable perks the Magic Key program has offered in years. Renew your Magic Key between now and May 26, 2027, and you will receive a complimentary Disney Dining Card loaded with credit based on your pass tier.
The Dining Card Breakdown by Pass Tier
Here is exactly what each renewal includes:
· Inspire Key renewal — $100 Disney Dining Card
· Believe Key renewal — $75 Disney Dining Card
· Explore Key renewal — $50 Disney Dining Card
· Imagine Key renewal — $25 Disney Dining Card
The card is emailed to the address you provide at checkout within 72 hours of completing your renewal. It works like a Disney gift card and is accepted at participating food and beverage locations throughout Disneyland Resort. You can add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for easy mobile use, or simply show the barcode to a Cast Member at the register.
Important Things to Know Before You Use It
A few key details worth knowing before you go to spend that card:
· The Dining Card is NOT valid at Downtown Disney District dining locations — it works inside the parks and at the resort hotels, but not in the District
· It is not accepted at Disney Store locations or Target shop-in-shop stores
· The card cannot be applied toward the cost of the Magic Key renewal itself
· For families renewing multiple Magic Keys, a separate Dining Card will be emailed for each individual pass renewed
· The offer applies to on-time renewals — meaning you need to be renewing an existing pass, not purchasing a new one for the first time
Bottom line: if your Magic Key is coming up for renewal in the next several months, this is a genuinely compelling reason to renew on time rather than letting it lapse. A $100 dining credit at Disneyland Resort goes a long way — that is a character dining experience, a Lamplight Lounge dinner, or a very satisfying week of churros and Dole Whips. Renew through the Disneyland app or at Disneyland.com.
🌈 PRIDE NITE IS ALMOST HERE — JUNE 16 & 18
One of the most joyful, colorful, and genuinely magical events on the entire Disneyland After Dark calendar is just around the corner. Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite returns for its fourth year on Tuesday, June 16 and Thursday, June 18 — and everything about this year's event sounds absolutely wonderful.
The Experience — What Makes Pride Nite So Special
Ticket holders get a three-hour park mix-in starting at 6 PM before the official party begins at 9 PM, running all the way until 1 AM. Rainbow projections bathe Sleeping Beauty Castle and the lands beyond in color all night long. The festive décor throughout the park transforms Disneyland into a celebration of identity, inclusion, and pure Disney joy that is unlike any regular park day.
The entertainment lineup is built to inspire and uplift from start to finish. The evening opens with the exclusive Pride Nite Fireworks spectacular — a custom-designed show created specifically for this event that is separate from the regular Disneyland fireworks. From there, a Pride character cavalcade led by Clarabelle Cow brings Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and the whole beloved crew down the parade route in a celebration that consistently brings the crowd to their feet. DJ stations set up throughout the park spin Pride-affirming music all night, and the 70th Celebration's Tapestry of Magic projection show on It's a Small World is expected to run at 10:45 PM and midnight — adding that extra layer of anniversary magic to an already extraordinary evening.
The Food — Because Pride Nite Eats Are Always Exceptional
New for 2026, Pride Nite introduces a Santa Maria-style tri-tip sandwich available at Hungry Bear Restaurant — a California BBQ classic that feels perfectly at home at a Pride celebration in Anaheim. Additional exclusive event food items are spread throughout the park, including a gluten-friendly chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with non-dairy ice cream and pulled mushroom and jackfruit loaded fries with beer-battered fries. The full menu of exclusive Pride Nite food will be available in the Disneyland app closer to the event dates.
The Merchandise
The 2026 Pride Nite exclusive merchandise collection features all-new designs on a hoodie, tumbler, and collectible trading pin — available only at the event and only on the two nights. These items have consistently sold through quickly at past Pride Nites, so arriving during the 6 PM mix-in window and heading to merchandise early is strongly recommended. Event merchandise is not available online or in park shops before or after the event nights.
The Photo Opportunities
Disney PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout the park at Pride-themed backdrops featuring inspirational messages and unique character appearances. Your event wristband includes a QR code linked to your PhotoPass — scan it into the Disneyland app and all your photos are available for download at no additional charge for 45 days. Given the extraordinary outfits guests bring to Pride Nite every year, the unlimited photo downloads alone make this one of the best event values of the summer.
Tickets and Details
Tickets for both nights are still available at $169 per person on the Disneyland website, though availability is shrinking as the dates approach. Both nights feature identical entertainment and experiences, so either date works — choose based on your schedule. The event is all-ages, welcoming, and has become one of the most anticipated nights of the year for LGBTQIA+ guests and allies alike. If Pride Nite is on your summer plans, book now.
🎶 DISNEY ON THE YARD — YARDFEST COMES TO DOWNTOWN DISNEY: JUNE 19
Here is a brand-new event making its Downtown Disney debut that deserves a serious spotlight: Disney On the Yard — Yardfest: Powered by Celebrate Soulfully arrives at Downtown Disney District on Friday, June 19. This community celebration is a love letter to Black culture, music, and community, bringing the energy of an outdoor summer yard party to the heart of the resort — completely free with no park ticket required.
Yardfest will feature live performances, step shows, and community entertainment on the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage, along with cultural programming woven throughout the District. Think vibrant, warm, celebratorily joyful — the kind of event that makes Downtown Disney feel like the most alive corner of Southern California for one very special Friday evening. Full performance lineup and timing will be available in the Disneyland app closer to June 19.

On Grad Nite evenings, DCA closes at 9 PM for day guests to accommodate the after-hours student celebrations. Disneyland Park is not affected. If you are visiting DCA on a Grad Nite evening this week, plan your day around the earlier closing time and check the resort app for the exact affected dates.
🏰 DOWNTOWN DISNEY — THROWBACK PARTY FINALE, YARDFEST & TRANSFORMATION UPDATE
Disney+ Throwback Dance Party — THIS WEEKEND IS THE LAST ONE!
The Disney+ Throwback Dance Party at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage wraps up for good this weekend — June 5, 6, and 7 are the absolute final performances of the season. Free DJ sets run at Noon, 1 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. High School Musical, Hannah Montana, The Cheetah Girls, Camp Rock, The Descendants, ZOMBIES — it is all there, completely free, and this weekend is your very last chance. After Sunday June 7, the stage goes quiet on this one until further notice. Do not miss it.
District Transformation — Current Status
Downtown Disney's ambitious 2026 transformation continues to build momentum. Here is the current status of what is in development:
· Earl of Sandwich — Permanent two-story flagship nearing completion
· Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby — 1960s British gastropub on the second floor above Earl of Sandwich, with hiring actively underway
· Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon — Full-service steakhouse from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori in the former Tortilla Joe's space
· Pearl's Roadside BBQ — Quick-service smoked meats concept in development
· Bopo Go! — Boba and bubble tea replacing Jamba, which closes July 5
· Porto's Bakery — Construction underway in early stages
· lululemon — Already open in the former ESPN Zone building
Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, Beignets Expressed, Salt & Straw, World of Disney, and The D-Lander Shop remain the anchor stops for this week. The District is a genuinely excellent destination right now — and it is only getting better.
🏨 RESORT HOTELS — SUMMER DEALS & DINING HIGHLIGHTS
Summer Room Discounts — Still Available
The summer hotel discount offers remain active for anyone still planning a resort stay. General guests can save up to 15% on select stays at Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian, and up to 10% off at Pixar Place Hotel for Sunday through Thursday nights. Magic Key holders save up to 20% on select stays from May 22 through September 7 — with the booking window open through August 25. Disney Visa cardholders can also save up to 25% on premium rooms and 20% on standard rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian, and Villas.
GCH Craftsman Bar — Summer Cocktail Menu
The GCH Craftsman Bar at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is serving its summer cocktail menu now, and it is one of the most underrated happy-hour experiences anywhere in the entire resort. The Arts and Crafts setting, the warm amber lighting, and a well-crafted seasonal drink menu make this a legitimately wonderful way to start or end a park day. Walk-in availability is usually good on weekdays — weekends benefit from a reservation.
Goofy's Kitchen — Seasonal Dining Still Available
Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel continues to offer its beloved character dining experience with seasonal summer programming. If a character meal is on the agenda for your summer trip, this remains one of the most reliably charming options on the resort. Book through the Disneyland app — weekend reservations fill quickly during summer.
🛍️ MERCHANDISE — 70TH FINALE COLLECTION, PRIDE NITE DROPS & SUMMER FINDS
70th Anniversary Finale Collection — Last Chance Window
The Disneyland 70th Anniversary Finale Collection — with its deep purple tones, Swarovski crystal ear headbands, Spirit Jersey, and marquee-inspired apparel — is still available at Elias & Co., World of Disney, and select resort shops while supplies last. The 70th Celebration ends August 9, and the Finale Collection represents the last major merchandise push of the entire anniversary year. Items will not be restocked once they sell through. If the crystal ears are on your must-have list, sooner is smarter.
Pride Nite 2026 Exclusive Merchandise — Event Only
The 2026 Pride Nite exclusive merchandise — the new-design hoodie, tumbler, and collectible trading pin — is available only at the event on June 16 and 18. No online sale, no in-park availability outside of the event nights. Arrive during the 6 PM mix-in window and head to merchandise locations first for the best selection. After June 18, this collection is gone permanently.
Lingering Star Wars Items — Still Available While Supplies Last
Remaining Star Wars season collectibles — including the Mandalorian & Grogu May the 4th Logo Collection, the Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket, and the Bantha Sipper — are still circulating at World of Disney and select park retail locations while supplies last. These are moving steadily and will not be restocked.
