Your Weekly Disneyland Resort Update

🚀 Biggest Story

The Mandalorian & Grogu Are Coming to Smugglers Run

A major update is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run that will completely change how missions play out inside the attraction.

Beginning May 22, 2026, a new storyline featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu will debut.

What’s New

For the first time, guests piloting the Falcon will help determine where the mission goes.

Possible locations include:

  • Bespin

  • The wreckage of the second Death Star near Endor

  • Coruscant

The New Story

In this new adventure:

  • Hondo Ohnaka hears about a deal happening on Tatooine

  • Former Imperial officers are working with pirates

  • A bounty is placed on capturing them

Guests team up with Din Djarin and Grogu to chase the criminals across the galaxy.

New Gameplay Element

Engineers on the Falcon will now be able to interact with Grogu during the mission, adding a fun surprise element during the ride.

Why This Matters

Smugglers Run has always been unique because guests control the ship.
Adding multiple destinations and storylines makes the attraction much more re-rideable.

Expect long lines when this launches.

The bakery will take over the former La Brea Bakery location near the park entrances.

What Guests Are Seeing

  • Construction walls around the site

  • Walkway reroutes near the entrance area

  • Ongoing demolition and preparation work

When Porto’s opens, it’s expected to become one of the busiest dining locations in the district.

🎭 Continuing Story

Bluey Stage Show Opening Soon

(Quick update from last week)

Construction is progressing on the upcoming stage show:

“Bluey’s Best Day Ever!”

Opening: March 22, 2026

The show will take place at Fantasyland Theatre and bring the beloved animated series to life in a live performance.

This will likely become a major draw for families visiting Disneyland this spring.

📊 Park Strategy This Week

Crowds are slowly increasing as the spring season ramps up.

  • Food & Wine Festival is driving more traffic to DCA

  • Weekend crowds are growing steadily

Ride Wait Patterns

  • Radiator Springs Racers continues to post the longest waits

  • Midway Mania peaks around midday

Smart Strategy

Morning → Start in Disneyland
Afternoon → Hop to DCA for festival booths

This approach avoids peak ride lines and lets you enjoy food tastings later in the day.

🎯 The Bottom Line

This week at the Disneyland Resort is about new flavors and future changes.

Highlights include:

  • A major Star Wars ride update coming to Smugglers Run

  • The return of the Food & Wine Festival at DCA

  • Continued construction preparing for Porto’s Bakery

  • The upcoming Bluey stage show opening later this month
