Big Changes at Disneyland This Week — Rides Close & New Treats Arrive

Everything happening at the resort March 30–April 3 2026.

Hello, Disney fans✨ Zenfinity Disney

Disneyland Resort Weekly Update

March 30 – April 3, 2026

Your weekly scoop of Disneyland magic — attractions, bites, and all the pixie dust in between.

This week brings big leadership news for Disney, several attraction closures, new spring food across the resort, and a packed lineup of events as April begins.

From:

  • Disneyland Park

  • Disney California Adventure Park

  • Downtown Disney District

Let’s dive in.

🏰 A New Era of Disney Begins

I’ve been meaning to write about one of the biggest developments across the entire Disney universe happened March 18, 2026.

Josh D'Amaro officially became Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, succeeding longtime leader Bob Iger.

For Disney park fans, this moment feels especially meaningful.

Why Park Fans Are Excited

D’Amaro has always been known as a parks-first leader.

Stories about him visiting the parks unannounced are legendary.
He’s known to walk the park talking with guests and noticing the smallest details — even down to the color of trash cans and the taste of popcorn.

His love for Disney reportedly began when he visited Disneyland Park at age 10, an experience he’s often described as life-changing.

What He Announced Already

At Disney’s annual shareholders meeting, D’Amaro revealed several big developments:

  • A new Disney cruise ship named Disney Believe

  • A massive investment plan expanding parks around the world

  • Upcoming films including Lilo & Stitch 2 (2028) and Incredibles 3 (2028)

Closer to Anaheim, leadership is also shifting.

  • Jill Estorino becomes President of Disneyland Resort

  • Thomas Mazloum moves into the role of Chairman of Disney Experiences

Bottom line: a new leadership team is steering Disney, and early signals suggest strong attention to the parks.

🎢 Attractions — What’s Open, What’s Closed & What’s Coming

Disneyland Monorail Goes Quiet

The iconic Disneyland Monorail officially closed March 30 for refurbishment.

This isn’t a quick tune-up.

Construction permits show Disney is updating:

  • Structural support pillars

  • Electrical infrastructure

Considering the monorail first debuted in 1959, this modernization work has been a long time coming.

There is no reopening date yet.

The Tomorrowland Monorail station entrance is also closed during the refurbishment.

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin Also Closed

Another classic attraction closed the same day.

Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin in Mickey’s Toontown is now down for refurbishment with no reopening date announced.

The ride last received major updates in 2021 when Jessica Rabbit was reimagined as a Toontown detective.

Many fans are hoping this closure brings new surprises or refreshed scenes.

Harbour Galley — Temporary Closure

One unexpected closure appeared on the refurbishment calendar.

Harbour Galley closed March 30 through April 3.

This cozy Rivers of America counter-service spot is known for its lobster rolls and waterside seating.

If you were hoping to grab lunch there this week, consider heading over to Cafe Orleans instead.

Jungle Cruise Still Waiting

Jungle Cruise remains closed after shutting down February 17 for refurbishment.

Disney still hasn’t shared a reopening date, leaving fans patiently waiting for the skippers to return.

The Good News — Grizzly River Run Is Back

On the brighter side, Grizzly River Run reopened March 27 after its winter refurbishment.

The whitewater rafting ride had been closed since January.

Spring weather means one thing: prepare to get soaked.

Upcoming Closures to Plan For

Several attractions will be closing soon:

  • Toy Story Midway Mania! — closes April 6

  • Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters — closes April 13

  • Silly Symphony Swings — closes April 27

Meanwhile, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind remains unexpectedly closed with no return date.

Thankfully, the park’s biggest rides — Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, and Radiator Springs Racers — remain fully operational.

🍽 Food & Dining — Spring Flavors Across the Resort
